This is a private arrangement, not a group excursion: you spend a few hours in Athens with an adult companion from our agency, and the city is the setting rather than the syllabus. Some clients want to see things. Most want dinner, a walk, a drink somewhere with a view, and someone interesting on the other side of the table.

Athens rewards that approach more than most European capitals do, because the parts worth seeing are stacked on top of each other. You can walk from the Acropolis Museum to a rooftop bar in Monastiraki in fifteen minutes, and from there to a late dinner in Psyrri in five more. Nothing needs to be scheduled tightly.

Where the evening tends to go

Plaka, Monastiraki and the historic centre

The pedestrianised Dionysiou Areopagitou walkway under the Acropolis is the single best half hour of walking in the city, and it is at its best around eight when the rock is lit and the tour groups have gone. Plaka just above it is pretty and touristy in equal measure. Monastiraki, one street north, is where the rooftops are.

Kolonaki

The city’s most self-possessed neighbourhood, spread around Dexameni square and up the lower slopes of Lycabettus. This is where Athenians who care about being seen go to be seen. Dress accordingly. Kolonaki notices. The funicular to the top of Lycabettus runs from Aristippou street and takes three minutes for a view that covers the whole basin down to Piraeus.

The southern coast

Glyfada, Voula and the marinas along the Athens Riviera are a genuinely different evening: sea air, seafood, a more relaxed dress code, and a drive of roughly twenty-five minutes from Syntagma when traffic behaves, longer at rush hour on Syngrou Avenue. Worth it if you have a whole evening rather than a couple of hours.

From the airport, Line 3 reaches Syntagma in about forty minutes and runs less frequently than the city lines. A car takes thirty-five minutes at night and can take over an hour in the morning.
Most central hotels cluster around Syntagma, Vouliagmenis Avenue near the coast, and the Acropolis fringe in Makrygianni and Koukaki.

How the booking is arranged

Contact us with the date, the approximate hours you want, and where you are staying. It helps to say what the evening involves, because that decides who is the right match and how she comes dressed. A restaurant reservation. A business dinner. A quiet few hours at your hotel, or a walk and a drink somewhere near it.

We confirm the arrangement with you rather than leave it open. You know who is coming and roughly when. If your dinner runs long or a meeting overruns, tell us; Athens evenings drift and we would rather adjust than have you rushing.

What an outcall to an Athens hotel involves

In practice, very little drama. Your companion arrives at the time agreed, dressed for the venue, and goes directly to your room if that is what you have arranged, or meets you in the bar if you prefer. Central Athens hotels are used to guests receiving visitors and nobody at reception makes an occasion of it. Give us the hotel name and your room number when you confirm, and the arrival takes care of itself. For apartments and short-let flats, the door codes and buzzer names matter more. Send them in advance.

Language is worth specifying too: English is standard among our companions, Greek is natural, and other languages exist but should be asked for in advance.

Consider the length honestly as well. Two hours in central Athens is a drink and a walk. An evening that includes the coast really needs four or more, simply because of the driving.
