Vizites Athens: what the word means and how the booking works

Vizita or incall, and why the choice is usually made for you
Two arrangements exist. She comes to you, which is the vizita. Or you go to a private flat kept by the agency, which is the incall.
Most people do not really choose. Visitors staying in a hotel near Syntagma take the outcall because their room is right there and going anywhere else at eleven at night makes no sense. Athenians who live with family or flatmates take the incall for the obvious reason. If you have a quiet place of your own and no reason to leave it, the vizita is the easier of the two by a distance.
Timing, and the number nobody wants to hear
Ninety minutes. That is the realistic gap between the confirmed booking and the knock at your door on a normal evening in central Athens, and anyone promising twenty minutes is either lying or has someone sitting idle two streets away.
The variables are real ones. A companion coming from Marousi down to a hotel on Syngrou at half past six is fighting the same traffic as everyone else on Kifisias. The same trip at midnight takes half an hour. Sundays are quick all day. The Friday before a long weekend in May is the worst window in the calendar and we will tell you so on the phone.
What to have ready before she arrives
- A clean bathroom and a towel that has not been used.
- The building door working, or someone able to answer the buzzer.
- Your phone in your hand, not on silent in another room.
- The room number given only once she is in the lobby.
- Any pets shut away, which sounds trivial until a large dog meets a stranger at the door.
Shower first. It is the one piece of etiquette every companion in this city mentions when you ask her what she wishes clients did more often.
Hotels in Athens: how an outcall actually goes
Big hotels are the simplest. On Vasilissis Sofias, around Omonia and along the coastal strip toward Glyfada, reception staff see guests receiving visitors every night of the week and pay no attention. She walks in alone, crosses the lobby, takes the lift. Nobody stops anyone.
Small boutique places in the Plaka and Monastiraki are tighter. Ten rooms, one owner permanently behind a desk two metres from the front door, and a lobby where a stranger is visible for the whole walk. It still works, but tell us the hotel when you book so we can plan the arrival sensibly rather than improvise it.
Short term rental flats are the third case. Give clear directions. Athenian buildings hide their entrances, the street numbering runs in a way that defeats map applications, and three different streets in three different municipalities share the same name.
What we will not do
We will not send anyone to an address that cannot be confirmed with a short call first. We will not take a booking from someone who is slurring on the phone, whatever the hour. We will not pass on a companion private number so you can arrange the next visit around us.
We also will not promise a specific woman at a specific minute before we have checked. Agencies that say yes to everything on the first call are the ones that ring back at ten past eleven with an excuse. Ours is a duller service and a more reliable one.
Choosing without wasting an hour
Pick the language you want to speak in first. Greek or English, both are easy to arrange, and it decides more about how the evening feels than anything in the photographs.
Then pick the duration honestly. An hour is an hour, and if you had a longer evening in mind you will feel rushed and blame the wrong thing. Give us two names rather than one, because on a busy night your first choice may already be out on another vizita across town.
